Memorial Programs

Caring for each other in loss.

  • Memorial Garden Committee

Purpose:  The Memorial Garden Committee oversees and cares for the congregation’s memorial garden as a sacred space of remembrance, reflection, and peace. Guided by Unitarian Universalist values that honor the inherent worth and dignity of every person, the committee ensures that the garden remains a welcoming place where loved ones may be remembered and where individuals can seek quiet contemplation.  The committee is responsible for the stewardship, maintenance, and respectful use of the garden; for supporting families who choose interment or memorialization there; and for upholding policies that preserve the beauty, integrity, and spiritual purpose of the space. Through this work, the Memorial Garden Committee helps nurture a living expression of community, continuity, and enduring love.

  • Memorial Receptions Team

Purpose: The Memorial Receptions Team creates a welcoming space for families and loved ones to gather following a memorial or remembrance service. Guided by our UU values of compassion and hospitality, the team provides a setting for communal healing through the shared act of refreshments or a meal. Team members manage the logistics of the reception—including setup, refreshment coordination, and breakdown—offering a steady, supportive presence for guests. By handling these details in collaboration with families and staff, the team ensures the bereaved can focus on connection and remembrance. Through this ministry of service, the team honors those we have lost and sustains the bonds of our community.
