TVUUC Justice Programs
Beloved Community
Learn MorePurpose: The Beloved Community program (formerly 8th Principle Task Force) aims to intentionally cultivate and nurture a vibrant, multicultural beloved community by dismantling racism and other forms of oppression through actions that hold ourselves and our congregation accountable for learning, growth, and allyship.
We meet regularly to plan opportunities that support anti-racism and anti-oppression education and allyship within our congregation and the larger community. These include discussions, classes, workshops, speakers, worship services, and partnering with other programs and community members for collaborative learning and support. All are welcome to join us on this journey.
Linda Lee Krager Library
Learn MorePurpose: The Linda Lee Kraeger (LLK) Library is committed to offering a diverse array of reading materials for the members and friends of TVUUC. This library prioritizes the collection and organization of resources that resonate with the interests, values, and principles of TVUUC, all while honoring and preserving its rich heritage.
Little Food Pantry
Learn MoreThe TVUUC Little Food Pantry, a zero-barrier outdoor pantry, offers free food to people struggling with food insecurity. Items and funding are donated by members and friends of the church. The pantry is re-stocked twice a day by a dedicated team of 30+ people.
Little Pantry Garden
Learn MoreIn the TVUUC Little Pantry Garden, an educational space in the church’s backyard, volunteers grow chemical-free food for the TVUUC Little Pantry Market. At the Market, members and friends of the church purchase items to help fund the outdoor, zero-barrier TVUUC Little Food Pantry that offers free shelf-stable food to community members struggling with food insecurity.
Refugee Assistance Team
Learn MorePurpose: The Refugee Assistance Team, in collaboration with Bridge Refugee Services, is currently supporting two Burundian refugee families. Our efforts focus on helping them adjust to school, improve their English skills, manage budgeting, navigate transportation to areas not serviced by bus routes, secure employment or better job opportunities, access community resources, and find affordable housing, among other essential services.
Reproductive Justice Program
Learn MoreThe Reproductive Justice Program is founded on the belief in the dignity of every individual and the importance of self-determination. It aims to create a world where people can make informed choices about their bodies and health in safe communities. The program advocates for access to affordable healthcare, comprehensive sexuality education, and informed reproductive health decisions. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of reproductive justice with other social justice issues, addressing systemic challenges like racism, economic inequality, and gender discrimination, and promotes coalition-building with allied communities to tackle these injustices.
TVUUC Trekkers
Learn MorePurpose: The mission of the TVUUC Trail Trekkers is to connect church members to the adjacent Third Creek Greenway by conducting periodic excursions on the trail. Our activities include litter hikes; "save a tree" excusions where we pull invasive vines from native trees; and guided nature walks led by bird and botany specialists.
