    Purpose:  The New Year’s Day Brunch invites our community to begin the year together in a spirit of renewal, connection, and joyful welcome. Rooted in our UU values of hospitality, inclusion, and respect for all identities, this gathering offers a relaxed and celebratory space where people of every age and background can share food, companionship, and hope for the year ahead.  By coming together on the first day of the new year, we honor the power of community, mark a moment of transition with intention, and nurture a sense of belonging that supports us throughout the months to come. The New Year’s Day Brunch strengthens our shared commitment to compassion, interdependence, and the ongoing creation of a vibrant and welcoming congregation.

  • Spring Retreat

    Purpose:  The Spring Weekend Retreat at The Mountain offers our congregation a time to reconnect with one another, with nature, and with our own spirits in a setting that nurtures renewal and reflection. Rooted in UU values of hospitality, inclusion, and respect for all identities, this retreat invites individuals and families of every age and experience to step away from daily routines and immerse themselves in community, learning, rest, and play.  Set in the beauty of the Southern Appalachian Highlands, the retreat provides opportunities for shared worship, workshops, outdoor exploration, creative expression, and meaningful conversation. By gathering at The Mountain, we strengthen relationships, deepen our sense of interdependence, and return home with refreshed energy and renewed commitment to our shared purpose as a congregation.

Rooted in our UU values of hospitality, inclusion, and respect for all identities, the retreat provides space for individuals of every age and background to engage in meaningful reflection, learning, creativity, and community‑building.  Through workshops, conversation, play, rest, and shared meals, we strengthen relationships, nurture spiritual growth, and remind ourselves of the interdependence that sustains our congregation. The Churchwide Retreat invites us to step away from routine, reconnect with one another, and return with refreshed spirits, renewed commitment, and a deeper sense of belonging.

    Purpose:  The Thanksgiving/Gratitude Potluck brings our community together to celebrate the gifts of connection, abundance, and shared gratitude. Rooted in our UU values of hospitality, inclusion, and respect for all identities, this gathering creates a welcoming space where people of every age, background, and lived experience can share food, stories, and appreciation for the blessings in their lives.  By contributing dishes, offering helping hands, and showing up in community, we honor the spirit of generosity and interdependence that sustains us. The Gratitude Potluck strengthens our bonds, deepens belonging, and invites us to reflect with open hearts on the many ways we give and receive care throughout the year.
